People who want to lose weight mostly would like to try taking diet pills since their advertisements show that you can lose weight quickly and easily just by taking them. The fact is, diet pills do not produce weight loss by themselves. You still must combine the said pills with healthy meals and daily exercise or else you wouldn't see the results that you are expecting.
Diet pills are classified into two groups: the first would be the herbal pills and second would be the doctor recommended diet pills.
Herbal diet pills work in a way that would decrease your appetite thus motivating you to lessen your meals. They also prevent you from having food cravings that are more often than not the reason why most people resort to binge eating. Herbal pills can be bought over the counter, so you need to understand and be aware of how they work and the risks of taking those kinds of pills.
Most claim that they have no side effects, but with the many products available on the market, there are some that are fake, so you have to really do your research to make sure that what you are getting is the real thing. Always take the recommended dose and never ever go over what the dosage says it should be. One of these types of pills would be the Hoodia products.
Doctor recommended diet pills on the other hand are said to have more positive effects as compared to the herbal counterparts. These pills have been tested thoroughly and their active ingredients are far stronger and proven as compared to the herbal kinds. Doctor recommended pills still need to be partnered with both exercise and a good diet for them to work effectively.
They are not for everyone because they are only offered to those with a BMI of at least 27 and those who are considered to be obese. The doctors wouldn't prescribe you with them if you only need to lose a few pounds, especially because of their strength and possible side effects. A few examples of these would be Meridia, Teniate, Bontril, Xenical, etc.
Both the doctor recommended and the herbal diet pills can be purchased online. Though with the doctor recommended ones, online sites are stricter with your purchase and will be asking you first to fill out a medical questionnaire online which would then be given to a medical expert or physician who will first review your medical history before prescribing them. Of course, what would be prescribed to you would be something that suits you. Orders purchased online are usually delivered through Fed-ex.
With all this being said, I personally can't recommend diet pills as a weight loss solution. There are simply too many negatives to their use and far better ways of losing weight that will leave you with lasting results and overall better health. If you choose to go this route, be very careful and don't get your hopes up too high.
