Diet Pills - The Truth, the Desire, and the Myths Revealed

these pills

I have never been a fan of diet pills. There are so many available with slogans, promises, that are just not possible, and yet people spend money on them every day. From metabolic increasment to pure fat burners these pills say they will change your life. Lets see if that's true.

OK, I have tried a few diet pills in the past and in my experience they have very little effect so this article is slightly biased against them, but at least I can give you the benefit of my experiences. Lets have a look at a few of the different types of pills available.

Appetite Suppression Pills

These pills, as suggested by the name, are meant to stop your hunger. The less hungry you are during the day, the less you eat right? Well, not so for everyone. Ignoring whether or not the pills work for a minute, are most people over weight because they are always hungry? I don't think so. I think people eat too much for a variety of reasons, such as enjoying the taste of food, eating for comfort, eating out of boredom, desire, etc. Hunger plays a role for three meals a day and a snack here or there. But lets just say for the sake of argument people are obese because they are always hungry, then do these pills suppress appetites? No, not in my experience. They made very little difference, except for one lot I had that recommended I down a glass of water at the same time as taking them. Well strangely they did suppress my hunger for a hour or two, but not more than downing a glass of water normally does. Do not bother about these pills, find a way to distract your self when feeling hungry or when you want to eat. Maybe play a game or go for a walk.

Diet Pills - The Truth

burn more

Diet pills have been around for many years, but they have only recently begun to see an explosive growth pattern in the worldwide marketplace. As more and more people become concerned with their public image, there has been a movement towards becoming thin and losing excess fat throughout different areas of your body. Society has a harsh way of casting off people who don't have model good looks or the bodies of Greek gods and goddesses. If you are looking for a way to supplement your own weight loss, however, you should stay away from diet pills that could only be adding to your weight problem.

It is important to know what can be found in most weight loss pills, as there are ingredients that have been known to severely harm, and even kill, users of various pills. The most common element that manufacturers put into a lose weight pills is ephedrine. This chemical compound speeds up your resting heart rate, which subsequently allows you to burn more calories by doing nothing. Ephedrine can be extremely dangerous if it is ingested in large doses. Your resting heart rate is not meant to fluctuate rapidly as happens when diet pill are ingested. It is important that you are extremely careful with diet pills that contain ephedrine, as death from ephedrine use has occurred in the past.

There is also a great amount of caffeine that can be found in diet supplement pills. Caffeine can be found in most soft drinks and some juices, and it provides human beings with increased energy to participate in vigorous activities for longer periods of time. As a person exercises more, they burn more calories, which is why so many diet pills contain small to large amounts of caffeine. As is the case with ephedrine, too much caffeine can lead to a heart rate that causes the organ to go into cardiac arrest. Caffeine provides just another reason why diet pills are considered to be so dangerous by so many doctors and physicians throughout the world.

Diet Pills - The Truth Revealed

side effects

Alli is a name used over the counter for Orlistat, it can also be available from your medical practitioner called Xenial. It essentially prevents fat from absorbing into our body and is one of the drugs the FDA backs to aid weight loss. If it sounds like a good idea to eat as much fatty foods as you want, it is not, you need to eat a low fat diet as well as be under the care of a doctor.

The amount of weight loss varied in a clinical study over 1 year from 5-10 %. This would be greatly increased if a low fat diet was introduced as well as exercise, and it was also found that it reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. The dieters regained one third of the weight that they lost.

The biggest disadvantages were digestive and bowel problems. The expulsion of fat through the bowels caused diarrhea, especially when taking the drug in the early stages. This type of "weight loss" is surely for the people that have tried everything.

side effects

When sticking to a low fat diet, the side effects will be reduced. However, it is up to you to follow a healthier eating plan and control your portions of food, the results can be increased by 50% by taking Alli. If you lost 10 pounds without taking the drug, you would lose 15 pounds with it, but everyone will react differently.

Diet Pills for weight loss work in the short term with side effects. If you are really wanting to lose weight naturally it is best to try a healthy eating diet with exercise. However, if you try any diet or diet pills then it is time to consult your doctor to ensure you are healthy and the program that you would like to participate in is safe for you.

Diet Pills - Are They Safe?

diet pills make

Diet pills are one of the modern inventions for losing weight and preventing excessive weight gain. While the original idea behind diet pills was to suppress one's appetite so that they would have less of a desire to eat or overeat, newer innovations in the diet pill sector involve assisting the body in burning fat and carbohydrates. Although the manufactures of these diet pills make bold claims, one question always remains: are diet pills safe?

How Diet Pills Work

While all diet pills claim that they are safe and even beneficial to your health, many questions remain about what kind of short and long term effects using diet pills can have on your body.

Pills that control appetite usually do so by including large doses of caffeine. Because caffeine is a natural appetite suppressant, caffeine-based diet pills tend to be effective in curbing one's appetite. There are, however, significant side effects: most of these types of diet pills make people feel nervous and "shaky" after taking them. In addition, long-term use of caffeine can have dangerous effects on blood sugar.

Some diet pill manufacturers have opted to use synthetic stimulants so that they can claim that their product does not include caffeine. But in many cases, the synthetic chemicals used as a replacement for caffeine can be even more detrimental to one's health than caffeine. The chemical ephedra, for example, was found to trigger heart attacks in a number of men as well as women who took diet pills that contained this chemical. Ephedra is also said to be damaging to the circulatory system.
